I had the pleasure of getting Dead Nation from Housemarque before the game released and let me tell you one thing:

ZOMBIES!!!!!!!

This game is nothing short of f@$%ing EPIC. Honestly, sitting here writing this review, I am lost for words. I have no idea who I am, and what I am doing (except for writing the review), that is how excited about this game I am!

Dead Nation was only available on the Playstation Network (November 30th), and runs around $10, and trust me it is VERY worth every single penny. In Dead Nation you have 2 options, a male or a female character. I chose the male, which his story is that he is immune to the zombie outbreak, including being bitten by them. He was held up, and his barricade came down, now he is looking for a way out. It is your job to help him get out of this hell. Trust me, how you get out of this place is an epic adventure in a giant bowl of awesome!

Graphically is one of the best aspects, it is insanely polished and looking beautiful. What I really love is the explosions; which look really realistic and bright. There is nothing like shooting a car, and having it try to explode; and while it does, you are in awe. You think to yourself “holy mother of all monkeys, that JUST happened!” I love the detail in every building, which tells me a great deal of thought went into this. To Housemarque I say thank you for giving me such a beautiful game to enjoy while I review it!

The controls are phenomenal; I am serious they are. Since it is a semi-top-down shooter, your Right Analog Stick controls where you aim, and it does it with great precision. If I want to turn on a dime, because some zombie is knowing at my ankle; then I want it to turn quickly. Sure as can be it does just that, it turns better than on a dime; more like 1/100th of a cent.

There is not a single thing about this game that is a disappointment. Even though at times it does seem like the zombie age is becoming the new WWII of FPS world, something new comes along and takes my interest. The thing that I enjoyed most out of this game is the shere amount of zombies. At any given time I have around 50-60 on the screen coming to knaw at my neck; and I LOVE IT! The guns are easy to upgrade via yellow orbs you can collect throughout your travels. My favorite gun as of now is the fully upgraded rifle; not only because it is a one-shot gun, but it reflects on my awesomeness.

In conclusion GET THIS GAME! You not be sorry, you will have more fun than you can imagine. Hey even join up with a friend, and kill some zombie freaks in places no man wants to be kicked… although I am unsure about the woman zombies. Again, I HIGHLY recommend this game, simply because it is different, and it is a GREAT difference in the war between zombie games.
