Capcom took a risk with their new IP Dragons Dogma and it turns out that risk was worth it. Dragons Dogma takes inspiration from many different genres and combines them to make one of the best open world rpgs released in 2012. With its main competitors being Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Dragons Dogma had to shine enough to distinguish itself from the crowd. It did that an... more. -

November of 2012 has been such an epic month for games and for one in particular is Call of Duty: Black Ops II; the distant sequel to the Vietnam era Black Ops. There are a few things that pleased us about Black Ops II but some things kind of made us think “what the…?” Multiplayer Firstly multiplayer in Black Ops II is something that is special; in that it in a stage of its own. After ... more. -

In this generation of video games, many titles have been based from movies, or toys or the like; however none stand out more than the Transformers series of video games. In this installment Transformers: Fall of Cybertron takes you into the heart of Cybertron to defeat the Decepticons. Firstly, if you have not played any of the Transformers games developed by High Moon Studios then you should b... more. -
Damage Inc : Pacific Squadron

When I had first heard of Damage Inc., I took it with somewhat disbelief. Not because of who was making it, but rather the flight sim genre on the consoles is pretty much over. Everyone had their fill with previous flight sims during the last gen consoles. However, thankfully one company has not given up on this –almost- dead genre and took it a little bit further. Controls If yo... more. -

There is one thing we here at TheGamingExperience are very fond of, and that are kids directed games. Of course in this gaming age, there is not a genre around that gets less publicity, and sales than that of the world of children’s games. However this particular genre is where you will find some true gems of the gaming industry. One of those gems is Disney Universe. Disney Universe is a rar... more. -

I have had Prototype 2 since its release, and honestly I am still kind of unsure of what to think about it! I have played through it twice since then, gathering everything I could, just to convince myself to swing one way or another with it. So, here is what I have come up with. Controls The controls for Prototype 2 are substantially more fluid and more responsive than its predecessor. In a ... more. -

Let’s face a simple fact, video games centered on the malicious killing of the undead is a huge thing in this moment of the industry. I often wonder if the franchise that made it popular was never created, would we still be hell-bent on killing the undead? More than likely not, and that is why the Resident Evil franchise is one of the best. In this decade, there are countless zombie killing game... more. -

When I was young, I would purposefully stay home from school to play games all day long. I did this because there was no way I could escape the brilliant mind of Hideo Kojima. Yes… the genius that brought us the most epic franchise in video game history; the man who set the bar for how games should interact with a player. In my youth there were 3 games that changed my life, and influenced me mor... more. -
Doom (XBLA)

Doom… arguably one of the most influential games in the history of the industry (duh). Let’s face it; there should not be a single gamer anywhere that has never played and/or heard of Doom. Now the younger generations are exempt from this particular statement, as they are more worried about K/D ratios than the pivotal point in the First-Person genre. Zenimax however is aiming to change that... more.
