Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 is exactly what I wanted, more of the same with some upgrades. For me, Borderlands 2 is a massive success; it takes what the first game was: a humorous romp through a wasteland world with tons of action and MASSIVE amounts of loot and ups the ante. More humor, more action, and a much expanded upon amount of loot combined with tightened controls and much improved vehicle physics. &... more. -
Dark Souls

If you have played Demons Souls then you might know what to expect from Dark Souls. Dark Souls is basically the spiritual successor to Demons Souls. That means a great deal to the player who has already experienced Demons Souls. But what about the player who has no experience with the Souls series? Essentially Dark Souls is an action role-playing game with some influence from a genre of games c... more. -
Warriors Orochi 3

The hack and slash genre has been picking up lately; there is no doubt about it. One game I kept an eye on ever since its first announcement is Warriors Orochi 3. The reason it appealed to me so much as it took some of my favorite games, and made one giant ball of awesome! First off, graphically; Warriors Orochi 3 is one of those games that if you look carefully enough you will see this bea... more. -
MLB 12 The Show

Major League Baseball… I do have to say that I am personally not that big of a fan of the sport, but the games sure are fun! I had reviewed the predecessor to MLB 12 The Show on this website last year and gave it a rave review. I was very eager to get my hands on this one and see the vast amounts of improvements that the tame at SCEA came up with on an already astonishing game. Thankfully, SCEA ... more. -
NeverDead

There are many games that fall into the good category, and even more that fall into the not-so-good category of the gaming spectrum. Unfortunately for Rebellion Studios’ NeverDead falls into the not-so-good category. However, I refuse to write a negative centered review, so let’s focus our attention on the things that were good, and not the bad. I had relatively low hopes for this... more. -
X-Men Destiny

In a world of mutants –and video games based off them- there are a ton of games in a ton of different genres. When word got out of X-Men Destiny, I for one was not surprised by the third-person/RPG genre that it worked with. I was actually more than surprised by the game itself, and the overall structure. When you start up X-Men Destiny, you begin notice things that really define the game: Comba... more. -
Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension

One of my favorite Disney shows has got a video game! What is actually pretty funny is that Phineas and Ferb have a very large cult following, and this game can capture their hearts. Everyday my little family gathers to watch the show, so when I heard there was a video game coming out my jaw dropped. Not only can I now capture the greatness on my TV but also now I can with my PS3. This game releas... more. -
Portal 2

The year is 2007, and the world as we know it is full of less than challenging games that stimulate our thought process. Then, out came a game by the name of Portal; a game that (in my eyes) revolutionized the modern day puzzle-platform genre. After release, came a giant pitfall; a almost meaningless 3 hour single player experience. However, in the process it developed a die-hard fan-base with... more. -
Smackdown vs. Raw 2011
4 CommentsPosted by Mr. Slate on March 27, 2011 under Featured, Playstation 3 ReviewsWWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2011 is the latest in THQ’s series of Professional Wrestling (Or Sports Entertainment) Games. After the mixed bag that was Smackdown vs. RAW 2010, fans are hoping it’s also the greatest. On the surface, SVR 2011 is a visual improvement over the previous installment. The wrestlers look a lot better, and have subtle improvements like improved muscle animation and as the ma... more. -
MLB 11 The Show
0 CommentsPosted by Terry on March 25, 2011 under Featured, Playstation 3, Playstation 3 ReviewsIt is that time again; can you smell the fresh cut grass yet? I sure can, even though there is 9ft of snow outside! MLB 11 The Show is beyond realistic; it takes realism to a completely new level. The amount of detail on the field is really inspiring, and at times I really did believe I was at a real MLB game. Aside from the field even the crowd is actually believable. That is a good ... more.
