So you need a good gaming headset right? Well thankfully you have come to the right place!
Tritton Warhead 7.1 Wireless headset
Platform: Xbox 360 / PC (not “officially”)
Comfort: The Warhead 7.1 is an insanely comfortable headset, mainly useful in those overly long gaming hours such as Extra-Life. I personally used it for this gaming marathon and I did not feel a single moment of discomfort at all. This is a HUGE plus for me!
Setup: One of the best things about this headset is that it is shipped with an S/PDIF (Optical) cable, and for those that do not know this is a good thing. The S/PDIF uses light to carry sound which is much faster and a lot clearer; and not to mention it is not subject to interference. Anyways, once you take it out of the box, you put your wireless near your gaming station, and recharge one of the 2 included batteries, connect your S/PDIF or RCA cables and you are good to go. Easy wasn’t it?
Just a side note, that if your motherboard on your PC has an S/PDIF out, then you can as well use it on that effectively, same goes for just using the included headset adapter!
Sound: This is the point isn’t it? Well the Warhead 7.1 sounds like it should: a beast. It is one of the best headsets I have ever used in my 20 years of gaming. The sounds are rich highs, and VERY deep lows. It makes playing Battlefield 3 very interesting. As for chat options, the mic can be connected and disconnected depending on how social you are feeling. This also comes in handy when gaming on Xbox Live; if you join a party while you are gaming simply take the microphone and connect it to the headset and you are good. The Xbox automatically recognizes it as a wireless mic and lets you even see the battery level of the headset. If you are feeling slightly sociable then leave the mic in and just hit the mute button on the microphone itself, a light will appear by the receiver of it and you know it is muted.
Verdict: The Warhead 7.1 wireless headset is a beast, like the name implies. It sounds so good that you will forget you are at home playing a game! There really is no downside to this headset except of course the price, coming in at $299.99 it will sure set you back. However, this headset is more than worth it for great sound! Also, you can leave it plugged in and it will still charge despite you not using the headset.
